Roof motors ok but roof still sluggish

Post by Dodgey » Wed Jul 16, 2014 6:38 pm

I've had the motors out and serviced them. They run fine. Put them back in and the roof is still sluggish to raise. What other main friction points are there as something somewhere must be causing this?

It'll be the weight of all them solar panels :). Could it be the gas struts have become a bit lazy with age? The actual cable drive may need lubrication which is something I've been thinking about doing but it doesn't look to be the simplest job to tackle.

Yeah - engine running mate. God forbid trying it without!

Solar - ! Get outta here! :-)

Hmm, could be the struts I guess. It used to go up to "stage 1" quite slow, then much quicker the rest of the way up. Perhaps it is the struts. As for the cable drive ... hmmmmm
