Have you checked fuse 1? If that has blown (or is making intermittent contact) that will give flashing glow plug light and as I recall, can knock the stereo out.

Fuse 1 is missing, am told because of dual charging circuit? If dual charge circuit knackered would that cause same effect?Simon Jones wrote:Have you checked fuse 1? If you are running the fuse 1 circuit from the LB and the voltage is low it will cause some of the symptoms you describe. Personally, I would disconnect the split charge for now and re-instate fuse 1 and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks all for the advice guys, think I have nailed it. There is a fairly badly fitted fuse box in the engine bay under passenger seat that is part of the dual charging set up. I was cleaning up some of the contacts today and three of the spade connectors snapped pretty much as soon as I touched them. Cut them off and made good new connections. 5A fuse was blown (seems to control central locking and the tube light in the back), replaced that. Central locking now works again, stereo works again and no more flashing light on dash.

hi, I have got the same problem as you. my radio started stopping and starting, so I went and got a new one fitted, was ok for about an hour then the same problem started again, so went back to the dealer who tried another radio ,but was the same then said that the leisure batt was only putting out 11 volts or there about,thats why the radio was not working properly so adviced to get new one ,he wired the radio straight to normal batt , radio ok now, but ,now my coil light is flashing all the time,and wont go out, is this just a co incedent. fuses seems ok.etc. just wonderimg. radio. leisure batt. etc.

No its the same type of problem as above, the fuse supplies all the backup power not only to the radio but also the ECU and hence the flashing light. You need to sort the L/B wiring and the fuse that is normally in the top row left position in the fuse box by the drivers knee, its one of the possible 4 that might have been transferred to the L/B fuse box.

i came across this thread after experiencing some of the problems as previously discussed in earlier posts.
i thought i would have it sorted after someone mentioned fuse 1, but when i removed the cover, i was confronted with this.

fuses 1 and 8 have been removed to be replaced by these wires. They go straight into the main loom, i think.
So far , i have experienced loss of:- stereo power, electric mirrors, all internal lights, front cigarette lighter, the three small rocker switches that control the economy idle and proximity audio warnings, and also the heater resets itself to 25'C every time i turn the ignition off.
i have checked all the fuses, all fine, but cannot find the ones mentioned in earlier post regarding the fuses in the engine bay.
The leisure battery was flat earlier this year, butt these things have happened since then. Could all this be related, or am i now in deep dodoo.
i have a two week trip planned for early august, so need this sorted soon.
Any advice. Or does anyone know of an auto electrician in the south Essex area.

That's the Willinton kit setup, the two wires go back under the bonnet to a 4 position fuse box connected to the L/B, only two fuses are used in this configuration, the blinds have not been connected.

hi,after all the probs I had after getting new radio fitted.the same problem happened again raidio cut out.took it back to dealer who said that lb was flat and that what caused the radio to stop working .so he wired it up to number 1 fuse under the dash ,which had no wireing on it.after that the coil light started flashing ,so he said replace lb and they will put back the way it was. so went home pissed off. checked all fuses ,they were ok. apart from 60 amp spade fuse which had blown. then I noticed I had no interior lights ,no central locking.went back to dealer and asked them to disconnect everything they had done ands put back to way it was.this consisted of one small wire from radio to fuse ,and reconnect wire they bypassed. after that. coil light went out .interior lights work as does the centrall locking, then I replaced the 60 amp fuse. the only thing that happened after that was the fans came on, now everythings ok.

Worth checking the voltage on the LB too, if its only putting out 11v then you should replace it. The fuse box in the engine bay on mine I think is a DIY effort from the previous owner. Bloody silly place to put it, exposed to the elements and spray from the road. My problems stopped when I replaced two fuses, one for the central locking, and the other which was linked to th dual charge circuit. The fan you mention, is that the scav fan (in engine bay under seats)?
