Whats the damage????

Evening all,

Not long put a new complete cylinder head on the Bongo. After investigation the cam lobes worked loose causing the engine to loose compression and struggled to start (Guessing the timing was kicked out of sync as a result???) When finally started it was heavily missing with black smoke coming from tail pipe. Revs also struggled to get beyond 1,500 revs.

No damage was done to the cam lobes they were re-fitted and timing was set-up a result. Still the same issues were present.

Any ideas - would the valves have been damaged as a result??

You technical expertise/thoughts would be appreciated.

A compression test on the cylinders should give you the answer.
