Rad hoses

Post by bongobridge » Sat Jun 28, 2014 9:56 pm

Hi guys,

Just after a bit of advice I have had a small leak on the bottom hose on the rad, after changing the hose there is still a small leak coming from the hose. #-o

Question is , Can there be some kind of sealant used when replacing these hoses??

No.....not really.....stick another jub clip on or get a Norma hose clamp from the website below.

Is the leak due to a poor seal or is it coming from the pipe itself? Most joints don't need sealant but where there can be corrosion on the metal components preventing a good joint, I use a smear of Hylomar blue compound.

Thank Simon, Haydn

It is a bad seal so will try the hylomar, it has two jubilee clips on and it's a new pipe but still dripping .

Thanks

Strong possibility that the radiator is leaking, check the radiator stub and bottom tank seal.(if plastic type)

Does it have metal tanks or plastic type.
