Hitachi Alternator noisy bearings

Hi guys, my bongo started making some new noises yesterday and the garage told me today the bearings on the alternator have had it.

Is this normal for a unit just under 2 years old?

Could it have been the belt tension was too tight?

Are you talking about a NEW 2 year old or a RECONDITIONED 2 year old unit.?

Was the belt tension too tight?

The garage didn't say the belt was tight I'm just wondering what could cause the bearings to be knackered in a New 2 year old alternator.

Where did you get the NEW not reconditioned alternator.

If you had a New Alternator supplies and fitted by a professional mechanic it should, unless damaged by water etc etc last more than two years...contact the dealer re taking/sending it back.
