Improving the reversing lights

Post by Tony x » Mon Jun 16, 2014 3:41 pm

Below is a picture of the rear door on our Bongo.

Looking at the clear reflector on the door itself, below the red light that comes on with the headlights, has anyone tried to convert this into a working reversing light?
I would have no problem sorting out the wiring and I realize I'd have to drill a hole in the metal of the door behind the reflector.
Otherwise, any tips on improving the revering lights? - I was thinking brighter bulbs in the standard reversing lights maybe?
I've seen a thread on replacing these with led type bulbs but I was after something with more omph.

I've mounted an extra light in the bumper, think there's a fact sheet in the members area.
