Replacing the Aerial.

Post by dante231 » Wed Jun 11, 2014 9:38 pm

So did my first venture into some Bongo repair.

Aerial is snapped so ordered a new one. Read the guide etc and warned myself about losing the bearing...

Undid the aerial and dink, the bearing rolls down the roof and into brambles :(

Felt like crying. Got the balls to tell the wife, who had forewarned me not to screw up...

Searched around garage for a bearing. Have lots of bikes. Took apart an old basic pedal and bingo, 20 odd bearings. Now what are the chances they fit?

Greased one up, popped it in and bingo. Working aerial!

Nice one.

Just need to fix the bike now.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.
