Rear Flip up seats - floor attachment.
Hi - first post.
Just about to buy a bongo with a split rear seat (the ones which fold to the side). The left hand seat has been removed so there is only the RH side in place. At the moment this doesn't clip into the floor of the van as there is nothing for it to clip into. Does anyone know if this is something which can be replaced, or is it a loop which is welded to the chassis?
Thanks

Sounds like this one had a bench seat originally and the one fold up seat has been retrofitted. Mine was converted like this (but with both flip up seats), and yes, a loop should have been welded to the floor...

Hi, and welcome!
http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/c ... mgno=.html
57-510E shows the two "strikers", which appear to be secured by either one or two bolts, into captive nuts I assume.
Many a converter will be removing these seats/fixings on a regular basis, so you should be able to pick up what you need easily enough. There are a couple of breakers/spares folk on eBay and around and about, too.
Are there already corresponding cuts in the carpet?

There are cuts in the carpet, looks like it's part 57-510E on that diagram. I seem to remember from looking that there was a single threaded hole in the floor as well, which would make sense.

You could try posting a Wanted here on the forum, or if there is a breaker local to you, see if they have any Bongos.
Alternatively:
George at BongoBits4U2012 -

Good luck!
Hope you get your van soon and everything goes well!
If it's diesel, is there a low coolant alarm fitted yet?

Hi
Most excellent...now, when you have them fitted, and you crawl around looking under the middle seats for the odd fiver you've dropped, you'll forget about the loops and knee-cap yourself....Works every time!....
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Re: Rear Flip up seats - floor attachment.
I get a lot of bits from Kevin. I needed a smallish bit of Vohringer ply to make a table & he kindly sold me a piece cut to my dimensions. Highly recommended.gearfreak wrote:All sorted now thanks to the very helpful Kevin at Southernbongos.
