Used Starr Bright spray this morning, it absolutely stinks, and is pricey, but...
It is amazing, no wiping, just spray, ventilate and leave. I have no trace of mildew anymore.

Decided aginst the bleach and chemical routes. I used strong lemon juice and salt and a nailbrush, it worked very well, then wiped with fresh water. Only few faint marks left from the worst patches. I also bought some oil of cloves so will try this too when next get chance time and weather wise. Thanks everyone for input, really informative. Bev.

This is excellent stuff used it on patio and decking never been so clean and no harmful chemicals only problem is needs to be exposed to the weather elements to work properly, but worth a try as if it does not work you can use it elsewhere

In one litre of water I put half a teacup/smallmug of table salt and about 75ml from a bottle of Tesco lemon juice and rubbed it gently with nailbrush.
