Hi, just wanted to check in to see if anyone is using a towbar with a 4 bike carrier? I understand the Bongo can take up to 80Kg nose weight but not sure if all the towbars can handle that. I've seen posts to suggest the only one to use is the A1 MA465 http://www.a1tow.com/Files/Fitting/MA465S_A.pdf
My fitter has suggested this one : http://www.ankertowbars.co.uk/shop/fitting/7105.pdf
It's not so expensive, is anyone else successfully using one like that or do we need the longer bars to improve strength?
Thanks in advance

Re: Towbar for 4 bike carrier
I would have thought that as the Bongo's nose weight limit is 80kg that any tow bar for a Bongo should support that.
Just a personal view and others may know more.

I use a Maxxraxx 4 bike carrier on a cheap Towsure towbar, its fine.
Remember they must all be designed to take at least the maximum nose weight

The A1 towbar is probably the strongest one available for the Bongo and I have fitted it to both the vans we've owned. It has long plates which spread the load along the chassis which helps to reduce any bounce from the rack. If you have a 2002 or newer van you'll need to trim the bumper lip to accommodate the ball mounting.

Great, thanks for the replies. I do have a 2002 so will need a trim.
Sounds like the A1 is best but any should do then.
