Switch Illumination
Does the roof open/close switch illuminate with the lights on?

Just curios as there isn't any other way to find out other than asking - but yep it would have got the matching treatment - all my dash switches now illuminate so I don't have to fumble about when driving at night.

As a general rule, if there is no translucent symbol on the switch, then there won't be any illumination behind it. Other switches such as the one for hazard lights only illuminate when in use.

Thanks Simon - the open close switch strangely does have "open" translucent. Looking a bit closer although it has the hole to take a lamp the two poles which power a lamp are absent. Will see if the current flow confirms my suspicion that the rocker switch is powering relays I may use a spare blind switch if they are configured in the same way. Just means swapping the backs but only if it will be safe to do so. Next will be the "lock" switch.
