Wayward fuel gauge

Looks like I'll be trying the earth mod on the fuel level sender is a little wayward. The gauge will not register above 3/4 full, despite soaking my feet in diesel. It also droos VERY quickly, down to 1/4 in about 80 miles. This scared me silly initially thinking there was something amiss and it was drinking loads. Thankfully after 80miles I coukd only get just under 3 gals in.

I had exact same problem but a simple fix run a earth wire from lip of tank to chassis job done
