Hi all,
Newbie so Hello to everyone.
I'm buying a Bongo in a couple of week and I'm looking to do a side conversion. I found a flat pack kit online from Convert your van, http://www.convertyourvan.co.uk/bongoprices.html The price is very reasonable and would suit my needs. I am planning to install this myself.
I'm wondering though about how you actually secure the unit down in the Bongo, I noticed it stated on the website "A floor must be in place before we can fit the kits" I assume I would also need to do this if self fitting. Is the unit screwed to the ply floor? Also how would the rock n roll bed be secured?
If anyone has any pictures of when they fitted their own similar conversion I would very appreciate it.
Many thanks in advance.
Martin

There's a fact sheet for fitting a ply floor in the members area, easy enough job.I would imagine that your kit will have relevent fixing instructions included but I'd check with the makers before buying.

Hi Martin and welcome, I think before spending £1200+ on a conversion i would spend a few months running it around stock. Then you can iron out every thing you need(cooker washing up bowl table can be stored under the seats) Go to a few meets and look at other peoples set ups. If you could get to the bongo bash that would be an eye opener, all the best neil.

That's our route too.diamond wrote:Hi Martin and welcome, I think before spending £1200+ on a conversion i would spend a few months running it around stock. Driveaway awning, some top lockers inside & so LED lighting, see where we go from there.

That's the best way
I have lived with this for two years

It was home made on a budget, its ok but I am now starting to make a easily removable Rock and Roll bed and side conversion so I will have the best of both worlds and can change from MPV to camper in an hour or so.
