Buying the right water pump and coolant hose

Post by lainey » Tue May 06, 2014 10:34 am

Hello lovely Bongonauts!
Bought a bongo two weeks ago and noticed leaking coolant. Hose split under drivers side near jubilee so I cut and reattached and bled as per vids. 2 days later noticed slow leak underneath, mate had a look and noticed immediately that the water pump was not working properly and was leaking. Pressure from header was also very high - gushing coolant out when cap carefully opened.

We want to buy parts but wanted to check to make sure to buy the right things. Hope not daft to ask but we are so desperate to get her on the road and can't afford to get the wrong bits :-)

We thought if mechanic changing water pump may as well change cam as its the original one - is that a good decision?

The bongo is a turbo diesel, 2.5, N reg
Our potential shopping list:
1. Water pump - Waterpump 2.5D - For WL-T engine (Diesel Bongos)
2. Cambelt - Fits all diesel Bongos - nice and simple!
3. 15-186 coolant hose. Struggling a bit with the drawing. The large coolant hose under the drivers seat (the easy one to get too) has been cut at some point and pulled very tight so flow is constricted. Need to get a new one - is it the 15-186?

Many thanks for any help :)

Here is the full list of coolant hoses for you again, I guess that it applies to all types of Bongos and Fredas.

Don't use jubilee clips, use the proper constant pressure ones.

If you're generating loads of pressure in the coolant system, unfortunately I suspect you've more problems than a pump & hose will solve but good luck with it.
