Hi, I have a 1995 Mazda Bongo diesel and recently had to change the car battery, consequently when you now turn off the ignition and remove the key you get a low audio type beeping which I would describe as a digital watch alarm type sound.
Has anyone got any idea how to eliminate this annoying beeping?
Thanks

Can you identify where it's coming from? Driver's side footwell just in front of the door hinge, driver's side back quarter in behind the speaker? Somewhere else behind the dash?

Something to do with your alarm?(if fitted)

What make stereo have you got: a Sony by any chance? My previous one used to beep when the ignition was switched off to remind you to remove the faceplate. Disconnecting the battery would revert it to factory settings.

Hi, the beeping appears to be coming from behind the steering column, I don’t have any alarm fitted and my radio make is Pioneer.
Thanks

We had a similar noise on our Bongo and, with a few aftermarket gadgets fitted, all capable of beeping, we were not sure where to look.
Anyway, although it sounded just like an electronic beep, it turned out to be a squeak from a couple of bits of plastic trim rubbing. This might be your issue.
