Petrol gauge fuse.

Post by weebrian » Mon Apr 21, 2014 10:11 am

The petrol gauge on my V6 seems to permanently show as on. It appears to work correctly, dropping as fuel is used.
I fitted a Willinton kit a few months back and am wondering whether the gauge shares a fuse with one of the other circuits that I have transferred to the leisure battery. Radio, blinds, lighter sockets and wing mirrors now work off the LB. Is one of these shared with the petrol gauge?

The petrol gauge does display all the time, it is very heavily damped and is driven to position, so even with the power off it doesn't change position ;-)
However it won't change position with the power off, so if someone siphons your fuel out it won't change until you turn the ignition on!

Thanks Geoff, I'd never noticed before, always thought it zeroed with the ignition off.
