Drop link thingys

Post by winchman » Wed Apr 16, 2014 12:16 pm

Just pass another MOT.
Bloke has advised to change my drop links as the rubbers are starting to perish but not letting dirt in.
So should I just buy these?

I do less than 3000 miles a year in it.
From memory one from another vehicle fits or am I dreaming?

Depends. I think you may be referring to the Vectra ones that fit the rear. Do you need front or rear? As mentioned on several recent posts, its not so much the joints that fail but the rubber boots, sometimes after a matter weeks of normal use due to inferior quality rubber. You pretty much get what you pay for, so £13.39 inc postage for the pair would say to me: buy cheap / buy twice.

Usually, by the price.

You could try a cheap set, and double up on the protection, like this

The club shop sells 2 types: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/mercha ... suspension

£21 (looks to be each) or £89 (for the pair). The latter are Blueprint so are much better quality.

I can recommend these...4 years warranty

PS the Vectra links only fit the front.
