I haven't seen it at night but its definitely brighter than the old florescent tube and should use about 90% less power.

My old tube was dull so i fitted a new one but it was just as dull and then i found it was because the contacts needed cleaning. After that, even the old one gave really good light - easily enough to read by. Its definitely brighter than my old tube and just about enough to read by,
Its a very blue light and not as warm as the old tube.
Its not great, I would prefer some brighter LED's and will keep an eye out for an improved version.
Mine came from the UK in a few days.
