Hi
As above really!
Left headlights on all day, do I need a bigger engine car to jumpstart with leads? Leads look quite new and sturdy.
Thanks
Is a 1.6 engine enough to jump start a 2.5 Bongo?

This should be OK, as long as the following are true :
1. The Bongo is normally a good starter, not a 5-minute cranker.
2. The leads are of good quality, not the 'supermarket specials'
3. The battery on the 1.6 is in good fettle. (It's not the 1.6 engine which will start the Bongo, but its battery)

Its a fairly good starter, well fingers crossed and thanks!

Yes it is the leads and how good the contact is at each end, that matters.
I've tried starting with what LOOK like good leads and got nowhere, then tried again with really good leads and had an instant start up.
You must also have good firm grip at the clamps, with as much surface contact as possible. I normally try and put the earth lead to a good firm contact on the engine block, but that is difficult to do with a Bongo.

Good info from the guys, bear in mind your battery may now be stuffed.

I used my Burgman 650 scooter to charge the battery on the bongo once when it stopped and would not start. Just leave it connected for about 10 minutes before starting to crank the Bongo.

Decent Jump Leads are the key.... many cheaper ones are aluminium not copper cables....
generally a decent "kick" from a running vehicle will boost the battery enough (as will linking from the leisure to the starter) whatever check the battery as it could be goosed
