Oil Leak between Head and Block?

Hi All, sorry for all of the questions recently this is all pretty new to me.

When we bought our Freda the mechanic had had a load of issues with it, turns out the head had been badly replaced before. So it was replaced, with a freshly skimmed and pressure tested one. New head bolts were used in the fitting so i was wondering is it possible for oil to seep out from between the Head and the Block or is it likely to be coming form somewhere else.

There is no noticeable loss of oil, temp sits just below middle, no mayo on the oil filler.

We only noticed today because of the rain causing a rainbow on the drive.

Finally is there any issue driving with this drip.

The area with oil is on the near side of the engine and is about 150mm in length right in the middle.

The Bongo engine is a dirty old thing, and a photo might help!...don't get too concerned until there is concern to worry about....post those pics!

Hopefully panic over, this is the 1st photo showing the oil on the gasket.

However once I had a torch and got a chance for a poke around, i spotted this.

On closer inspection it would seem that the pipe clip is missing and the fuel line has worked off, when I started the engine you can see fuel frothing.

So my next question is, do I need a specific pipe or will I be ok to use standard fuel line?

I'll update if fixed.

Well found, glad its cheap.

I would have thought any diesel pipe would do.

we have a new kitten------ it likes to sleep on my wifes chest as she sleeps, a little unnerving when i turn over in the night and come face to face with her, the wife, not the kitten.

Somehow I guessed that it would be t'other side....must be psychic! ....

Don't worry about asking questions...we've all done it!...

...and glad it was cheap....If it's fuel line, then any QUALITY fuel-pipe and clips will do....NOT nasty plastic, please...

So the pipe is fixed, happy days. Man that was a horrible job, just no access.

My next question is, what is this? What does it do? And where does it live? It is just dangling down with no obvious clip to attach it to.

Unfortunately it's dark outside and the Bongo is parked at my place, not here, so I can't get out and look in order to describe the location but that 'thing' on mine was always falling off its holder, especially whenever I poked a mirror around checking diesel drips.

Basically, if you continue forward in the direction away from the wiring harness you can find the attachment point by judging how far it can possibly be without exceeding the wiring length. It slides on, under and behind a plate near the fuel pump.

Once you have re located it, pop a ratchet cable tie around it and it won't come loose again.

ive seen them but not fitted to all, im wondering if they an electrical suppressor, similar to the ones fitted inside drills etc.
they may be fitted to help with mobile tele installations.
geoff may have a better idea.

Sorry to keep up on this, the fuel rail return line (I think that is what it is called), anyone know the right internal pipe size. 3.2mm is insanely tight, 4mm seems to be the better fit but I am still getting some driping.

I suspect it is the pipe clips not doing up cleanly but I just wanted to make sure I had all bases covered.
