Dash lights, where can I get one of these and what is this

Post by Sparky6911 » Sat Mar 08, 2014 7:58 pm

Hi All

Just a couple of questions, can the dash bulbs be replaced easily as I have a few out.

We have the little box mounted on the dash for the parking sensors and this doesn't illuminate when the lights are turned on, so my question is should it light up and if yes how do you get into it to replace the bulb. This is the one I mean

Is it possible to get the little plastic strip for the gear selector which shows the position of the leaver as ours is missing?

Finally what on earth is this, it doesn't turn on so should I worry about it?

Thanks in advance for any input

Cheers

1) Yes, very easy. 4 screws for the shroud and 2 for the instrument unit - the bulbs come out the back

2) No Idea. As it's an aftermarket fitting you would need to get a name off the unit and google for a manual

3) Breakers. Try VGS Imports on eBay, he's very good

4) Looks like a turbo timer. If it doesn't turn on, I'd just ignore it. You could always un-mount it and tuck it away behind the panel it#s attached to.

The parking sensor display was a Mazda factory option. There's often a rear one mounted on the plastic trim by the tailgate. What happens when it's on? Is it LED or LCD.

Does the rear one light up? I would expect the cover will unclip with a gentle pry with a flat bladed screwdriver.

I think you will find that the parking sensor display just pop out, there are springs underneath that compress like the lights in the top of the cab - try pushing to one side and lifting at the same time;

Him..might tried to get a new select indicator and hit lots of dead ends,breakers will sell a whole lever for about 20 quid. Be careful I learned the hard way and got another lever.... As you try to slide out the strip it damages it. I'm looking in to getting vinyl stickers printed and mounted on to a strip of plastic.
I will let you know how I get on, not heard of the ebay dealer before will try him as well...
