coolant alarm buzzer
Hi all,
I have just noticed that the buzzer on my coolant alarm is not working when you turn the ignition on. The red led flashes a couple of times as normal but no buzzer. It was fitted by 321 away when i bought our bongo , so i don't know what sort it is, it has 1 wire to the header tank and the single led on the dash.
Any suggestions would be great, thanks in advance.
Cheers
Barry

Re: coolant alarm buzzer
Depends on how old the alarm is....about 3 years ago we had a duff batch of buzzers....could still be a couple out there.

We asked for a low coolant alarm to be fitted when we bought our bongo in June 2013, how long they purchased it before hand is anybodies guess. The little sticker on the box/buzzer has cartek coolant alarm written on it. Have rung them this morning as of yet still no return phonecall

To be honest we didn't know who's low coolant alarm they were fitting, we ask for one to be fitted and they said it was £75 and thats what we paid.haydn callow wrote:Google ....cartek coolant alarm.......you get what you pay for......

Re: coolant alarm buzzer
Probably worth dumping it and getting one of Haydn's.
Likely be a good investment rather than chasing a provlem.

Re: coolant alarm buzzer
Our Low Coolant Alarms were developed with the help of Fury Forum members many years ago (how many years Mike) as far as I know almost all of them are still out there proctecting your Bongos. Some have fitted 'other' makes but even most of these have been replaced with ours....they are not cheap, but the overheads are high and at the end of the day the profit is modest......after sales is second to none......problems can normally be solved by email or phone......many dealers will not sell a bongo without first fitting our system, they tell us warranty claims are down, many thousands of Bongos have the system fitted and we know they save many a cylinder head.
They do work and they are extreamly robust and reliable.

I wish i had done a bit more research into the coolant alarms, didn't know much about them to be honest just that it was advisable to fit one, didn't know much about bongos till we bought ours in June.
Question now is what to replace it with?
By what i have read it seems that its better to have a low coolant and engine temperature system, what's the difference between TM1/TM2?
Are they really EASY to fit?
Would i have to put another hole in the header tank, or could i use the exiting one for the sensor?
Sorry for all the questions but i want to get it right this time, thanks for your time and advice in advance.
Cheers

Re: coolant alarm buzzer
You can use the existing hole.....the tm1 supersedes the tm2 but some folk prefer the tm2.
Re: coolant alarm buzzer
