Its a big field. Surprised if there is not room for more than ten if they do not need hook up. Or is this a rule to avoid large rallies?

Dave said WCC have caused him problems and insist on only 10 vans total. Remember he mentioned the neighbours complaining? If you bring a tent you should be ok......

Gray, was this limit of 10 mentioned before? I don't think we've had 10 before, have we?

Typical ****** council.

Tax pubs to death and then prevent the landlord accepting business when it is there.

Thanks Jill.

If you're coming with just a Bongo, ie no awning/caravan etc, it could be worth bringing a cheap 2 peeps tent so you can book in as 'car and tent' rather than 'camper van'.

I've certainly used this one when its 'tents only' and also where a tent is charged less than a camper.

Daft bit is you take more space, but "Rules is Rules".

This isn't Dave's fault, I'm sure he would like lots of trade, and no one is going to come and check where you're sleeping. I hope.

Bloomin' freezin' in that tent, mate, had to get in the car.

Oh, yes.

We may have my work buddy, Jen. Definitely car and tent.

I suspect eclectic won't be the issue, it will be the Council's 'Ten Van' rule. :( :( :(

I've yet to work out the difference between a car and a tent, or a Bongo and a tent? This stems from being ripped off in several campsites where we were charged for having an awning attached despite taking up less room on the sites than the former. Perhaps Dave could be persuaded that Bongo's with an awning are really cars with a tent......?

Ok. Can you please confirm what your unit will consist of: "car" and tent; or car and caravan; or motorhome. Eg I may be able to get away with "car" and tent this year! Provided Dave doesn't check where I'll be sleeping!

1. Jillygumbo (& Cfor) (Fri & Sat) EHU BF/WC "car" and tent
2. Crazy Uncle Gray (& Kerry) EHU BF motorhome
3. Boy From Brazil (Paul & Susie) EHU BF motorhome
4. Panda Bob (& Su) (Sat & Sun) EHU BF with an announcement, caravan?
5. Chris, Gem & the girls EHU BF unit?
6. EHU New Forest Terrier BF with Eriba! Caravan
7. EHU Cazzy & Jo EHU essential BF (can have my EHU if necessary) "car" and tent?
8. Sooty & Georgie – BF caravan & car
9. Bongobaz BF "car" and tent?
10. EHU Dr Fingers (& wife plus Martha the lab)BF (Sat & Sun) EHU would be nice "car" and tent?

Bongo and caravan.

Ours is unconverted and legaly a car. I actualy keep a copy of the V5 to prove this if they try and charge us as a motorhome. Not an issue if you pay per pitch.

I would like to see the council's justification that people in a caravan make more than people in a tent. Caravans being more expensive usually appeal to the more well behaved end of the market. They also have insulation' unlike if you are noisy in a tent there is nothing to mute the volume.

I imagine some council idiot got his idea of who turns up in a caravan from Big Fat Gypsy Weddings. The people who complain, moved into a village with a pub. Probably never use it and when it closes from lack of trade and joins the old post office and the old dairy will moan about having to drive into Pewsey.

:-k Jilly,

There has never been a limit mentioned before, so I guess he must of been getting some grief from somewhere #-o
As I see it, you have your list of the usual suspects now, including a couple of reserves.
I think maybe you should just let it ride now until the weekend before and then see who's still a deffo and who may have to drop out.
At that stage perhaps make a phone call to Dave and see what he has to say about the numbers we have and if he's ok with it.
Obviously if anyone is brave enough to tent the weekend, therefore not effecting the campervan rule, add them to a new list entitled
"Madder than any March Hare we have ever met before"
I for one will buy him a drink =D>

cheers! party on dudes.

My PB in a tent is minus 15c.

It was in the garden of the Square and Compass just before we got the Bongo.

Might do it for a pint.
