Alternator
Travelling from North Wales to Gloucester yesterday i hit a couple of rather large puddles which made my "Charge" light come on. Was recovered by RAC after almost four hours waiting, so none too pleased. The problem is, I need a new or recon alternator ASAP. Anyone know of anywhere which may be able to supply one between Christmas and New Year?? Any input would be great.

If you're a Club member a text to the Bongomeister is worth a go.
Good luck.

Re: Alternator
Got mine from a company called The alternator and starter motor company in Plymouth, very fast delivery and nice folks too. They had a page on ebay, not sure if they still do but worth a look.

You could also try putting it in the oven for a wee while at a low peep, unless you know for certain that the regulator/diode pack has blown.
I am sure the Turkey wont mind.
Good Luck.

Re: Alternator
If it were me, I'd take the alternator off and leave it the airing cupboard overnight to dry out. There's a good chance no permanent damage done and it will fine once all the water has gone.
