footwell LED

Post by lancyman » Fri Dec 13, 2013 10:22 am

Hi All,

I want to put some LED's in the footwell by the sliding door. I have read
that you wire them in from the pannel / switch by the passenger door. However,
I can't get the trim off to get at the wires? Any suggestions? Do you need to
remove the seatbelt bolts etc first?

cheers.

If you want to remove the top trim, you will need to remove seat belt top mounting bolt and then remove trim panels starting from the rear of the van and work forward as they interlock. The bottom panel just behind the left of the passenger seat should just pull off.

Hi Simon,

I did meant the trim by the passenger seat. I have tried to pull the bloomin thing off or unclip
it (like the other pannels) but it won't budge. Will have to have another look tonight.

Thanks.

I think that's about the only panel I've not removed :), but it will be held in place by metal spring clips, so it will pry off with careful but firm leverage. The later models have additional grab handles which would need to be removed first. If you can get to the bolt that secures the bracket at the bottom of the seatbelt, that may help. It looks like it may be accessible:
