Lying low for a few weeks
Lying low for a few weeks
Ticker threw a wobbler about 9 days ago. Whipped in to hospital and now home with a shiny new stent, (38mm long !), and probably back for another soon. 3 coronary arteries out of 4 need attention.
I'm feeling fine though, no pain, (7 pills/day!) and the fight back is well under way. No driving for a month
Y'all take care

Re: Lying low for a few weeks
Looks like luck was on your side Gordon, long may it remain so. You seem to have been shuttled from one hospital to another along the west coast of Scotland, you must be an expert on hospital food by now. Here on the east side of Scotland we get sent to Edinburgh if the job is too big for the Borders General Hospital. Where I live we don't even have to go to the hospital or our GP to find out what is wrong with us when we are feeling odd, we are lucky enough to have a heart specialist from the Borders General living just three doors away from us. She came over and checked my pals wife during their stay with us when she complained of chest pains even though she did not qualify for NHS treatment, just told her what to do when they got back to Amman.

Re: Lying low for a few weeks
After having cameras put into the veins via my groin area (which was done in a mobile unit parked on the car park of Walsall,'s manor Hospital) they found my tubes where to gobbed up to 'blow them up' so I had a triple by pass ..
Best thing I ever had done .. into New Cross Hospital (Wolverhampton) on a Monday .. out the following Monday .. Tuesday fitted an engine in a Yamaha bike .. mowed the lawn .. cooked the meals and continued life as I not been able to in the recent past ..
They said no driving for 6 weeks .. I drove a thousand miles in the first month .. usually with a bike after loading it onto a trailer ..
Sods law .. I had two punctures in that month .. once joining the M4 motorway with a m/bike in the back of my Toyota .. and just the (silly) scissor jack to lift the bus .. and yes .. I am in the RAC just seemed easier at the time to do it myself ..

Thanks for all the good wishes.
First walk out today, went absolutely fine.
Roll on getting the other two arteries sorted and back to full fitness.
