Air Con Issue

Post by mattwal » Tue Oct 22, 2013 8:10 pm

Hi first post here so go easy, just bought my Bongo (Filmore) and realised that although the ventilation fans all work on all 4speeds, when I turn the Air con button on it only works on 1 speed? If I turn the fan speed up the air con goes off and the light on the button goes out, is this supposed to happen or should I get all 4 speeds with A/C? My rig is a 1995 2.5TD with manual air con.Cheers

hi and welcome.
it should work on all speeds, sounds very strange, not heard of this one before. does it repeatedly do this---every time??
sounds to me like the system wiring is not standard. very odd. #-o .

Yep does it every time, I wondered if the air con was only supposed to work on one speed, seem to remember there was a Mazda Bt50 pick up that used to be the same years ago, but I might be wrong! :?

I wonder if it might involve the pressure switch in the air con, if there isn't sufficient pressure (i.e. it needs a refill) the air con will turn off. Might be worth having the air con refilled.
