what is this switch?

Post by hwyaden » Sun Oct 13, 2013 10:48 am

i have a switch on the right hand side of the steering column with what looks like a picture of an engine on it. it doesn't seem to do anything but it must do something! it's not the fog light and i've searched on the boards for a clue but no luck. i'm hoping my manual will reveal all but it's taking an age to arrive and i can't wait :D

You probably also have two batteries (bothe starter batteries) under the bonnet in that case! Its the switch for fast warming of the engine in the Northern Japanese models, its shuts a valve in the exhaust system to help get the engine hot quickly.

Some people swear by there efficiency ... others reckon that the exhaust flap can seize and do not recommend there use .. a lot have the system removed when they have a new exhaust system fitted ....

It would be worth while getting it check out and serviced, with theses old gas guzzlers it could save you a lot of money and save on engine wear in the long run.,
