Too many blooming speed ramps around here to do that, plus with a load on would be dodgy for me. Looks nice tho.

Seems to be ok over ramps, I did notice that the lowering springs were multi rate as opposed to the standard single rate normal ones so may be that explains the similar ride to normal. It's a 1996 Frank and I took the pic from its good side

Where is the best place to buy lowering springs, what sort of price are they, and does anyone have any bigger pics of one lowered

Hi David, its basically changing the springs which involves compressing the existing springs and removing them. On the front that involves removing the shock unit , on the back it's a little easier as you can jack the body up disconnect the rear shock and compress and remove the spring. Mine is about 50 mm lower than it was.

Well after reading some bad reports about lowered bongo's ruining the ride quality and catching the bump stops on a passenger laden vehicle which i have quite often plus towing my camping trailer and carrying kayaks on the roof rack i decided to go for a slightly Retro cool head down ass up stance, by using coil spring clamps on the front and winding 35mm out of the front coils, took me an hour to do each side and cost me £30, handling and ride comfort are unaffected and i love her stance

Each to their own I guess but I really don't see the point of lowering a Bongo. Some people say it improves the handling but it's a bliddy great 2 ton van with the aerodynamics of a brick so presumably it improves the handling from shite to not quite so shite? When I bought the Bongo I never expected it to handle like an MX5 so i wasn't dissapointed. Alot of the camp sites we go to have bad access roads with pot holes and most sites have speed bumps on them so I would be catching the bottom on the ground all the time. As standard it has great ground clearance for uneven surfaces and I for one wouldn't want to lose that benefit. As to looking better, I struggle to tell the difference unless I'm parked next to one and even then it's not obvious because the difference is minimal. Seems alot of expense to me for nothing. Just my opinion
