Header cap and radiator cap

Post by elbee » Mon Sep 23, 2013 8:13 pm

Can anyone help the coolant header cap on my bongo needs replacing as the washer is perished. Is this the same as the radiator cap available in the shop or is it different? :?

As it left the factory, the radiator cap is different to the header tank as per the label on the top:

The header tank cap should have a pressure valve built in.

There is one in the shop that apparently is suitable for both, although my understanding has always been that only the header tank one should be the spring loaded one:

Radiator Cap (Blueprint)
A cap. That goes on your radiator. Also fits expansion tank.
£20.00

Perhaps Ady or one of the other coolant experts can clarify the best solution

This seems to suggest they are both the same?

The rad cap and the header cap have identical Mazda part numbers.

Dunno :?. Go with Ian's recommendation: he will have sold enough to know what will fit.

We stock the header tank one with the pressure valve installed. Either Mazda or Blueprint. No problems over the last 10 years. It fits both.
