Ok, I've got the old problem with the front fan transistor blowing and its running on speed 4 and nothing else. It's got digital climate control so I opened it up to have a look at the transistor ans sure enough it's blown. Looks like the solder has come off one of the link wires too.
The help sheet mantions that the transistor is available for about £9. Any idea where? I've searched online and I can't find it anywhere. According to the numbers on it, it's a TOSHIBA SD1526 1513. I think.
Anyone got any idea where I can get one? The £68 for a new unit seems steep given that it's just a transistor and a connector with a big heat sink.
Cheers.

Re: Transistor for front fan speed controller
Brilliant. Thanks for that. Hopefully that'll do the job. Fan works fine otherwise.wonkanoby wrote:http://www.dalbani.co.uk/catalogue/prod ... hp?id=4939

be sure to use a blob of thermal paste

Re: Transistor for front fan speed controller
Well that's the fan sorted. New transistor fitted, big blob of arctic silver CPU paste too and it works a treat. Such a simple fix. Thanks for the supplier info.

Was going to to say RS Components or Maplins but you appear sorted - what is the spec of the transistor?

Just wondering if the same spec but with a bonded heat sink - would that stop it "blowing"?

Re: Transistor for front fan speed controller
I think main reason it blows is fan gets crudded up and puts to much load on it
Re: Transistor for front fan speed controller
For sure draw in excess would cause problems.
