how far was your longest trip in a bongo

If you are going away somewhere and don't mind meeting up with other Bongo owners or if you've been somewhere & want to tell us about it & stick up your photos, put the details here.

how far was your longest trip in a bongo

Post by Furydav » Sat Aug 03, 2013 2:11 pm

Did a tour of SW England at the start of July. From home in Scotland the round trip was well over 1000 and my 16 year old 2.5rd never missed a beat. This has encouraged me to head off through the channel tunnel next summer and do some serious miles on the continent. How far have you travelled in one trip and how did the bongo hold up?

2500 miles over 3 weeks last summer, down to the South of France and back, stopping off at various places along the way. Currently in France again now, heading home on Monday. Really recommend the Eurotunnel too - free with Tesco vouchers! :D

Fab times. :P

Cheers

Plenty similar is six years of happy Bongoing, you don't get 330,000 miles on your clock any other way

The Kiwis who borrowed ours 4 years ago set off from the Bash and did all round Devon & Cornwall then around Wales and across to Ireland to do most of the South and West of the Republic.

They then came back to England and sorted out some continental insurance cover before driving across France into Italy and down as far as Rome then up to Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Slovenia. They then crossed over into Germany before returning to the UK via Luxembourg and Belgium.

17,000(ish) miles in 14 weeks and they slept in the Bongo (a tintop at that) nearly the whole time. :?

...................................And they are still friends

our longest trip was about 2000 miles. it was with my parents though. apparently we have done a few of them.

one was round england and the second he mentioned was to holland.
:D

because we start off in the north of scotland, we always have a fair few miles before we even get anywhere.

Plymouth Santander out, drove to Silver Coast, Portugal then back up to St Malo through Spain and France. Did similar last year but explored the Picos de Europa instead of going to Portugal. This year we went to the North Coast of Scotland and toured around the highlands. Bongo performed thankfully on all three trips thanks to preparation by ADS!

I don't recall the exact mileage but we went to Poland in 2008 to meet the Russian owners club and then made our way back through Germany, Holland, Belguim and France. That was certainly my furthest camping expedition.
