3 or 4 section exhaust

3 or 4 section exhaust
96 - 2.5 auto. I haven't been able to get under to see whats fitted but I am a bit confused as to why and whats the difference. also want to make sure I am compliant with new MOT rules? Can anyone clarify?

If you've got the north Japan winter pack with the warm up device in the exhaust pipe (under passenger seat) then you'll have the 4 piece exhaust. You would also have the switch on the dashboard with the little engine logo on it. The type of exhaust won't have any affect on the MOT as long as its securely fitted and not excessively corroded or leaky.

Has any one come across any data or information on this system? I have twin batteries, switch on dash ect so would like to know more about it. I will need to replace the front pipe as it is blowing. any pointers would be helpful

i have got the parts 40-050 and 40-110a from the link below------- brand new, never used, might be for sale.
word of warning though, the nuts/bolts through the valve will poss need replacing as they will be really hard to remove without damage.
