Hi, i am getting a 1996 Freda next week and there is a slight issue with the roof. It goes up no bother but it stops just short of reaching it's maximum travel so has to have a gentle shove to stop the beeping. The guy selling it says it might just be the limit switch that needs adjusting? Has anyone come across this before? If it is an expensive fix then I need to know before I hand over my cash as I will ask for a reduction in the price.
Thanks,
Jon

Re: Roof issue
Loads of threads about this if you do a search. There can be many reasons, but none of them are serious

Re: Roof issue
Common problem, but contrary to what the seller says, the limit switch is not adjustable. You can just see it here behind the mechanism (white plunger and black micro switch) and it is bolted into a threaded hole so cannot be moved.

Re: Roof issue
we all need a little help raising it sometimes, most of us leave the tent zips undone to reduce the tension as the canvas/vinyl reaches full stretch.

Re: Roof issue
Ok cool, so a little light lube and leave it unzipped and it should rise no problem?! Thanks
