TIMING BELT MARKINGS V6

Post by Grannie Annie » Thu Aug 01, 2013 3:47 pm

HELP!!

Van broke down and is in a local garage unable to move. I haven't got a repair manual and he needs to check the timing belt markings before he goes any further.
I do not know what I am talking about.

I was going to buy a repair manual but the only one O can find on-line is over £70 to buy.

Any help gratefully received.

Club shop was the first place I looked but I can't see it and I've looked through the whole list about 10 times now!

Thanks, Mike. Sadly I have a petrol van so even at that price it's no good for me. I live in Lewis in The Outer Hebrides - fancy dropping it over for me?

There are too!! Y'know, I have pored over this site and the shop over and over again - I just knew this would be the place to find one but I simply wasn't able to find it.

Thanks. All I need to do now is sell my body in order to buy one. Who'll give me 50p? Come on - I only need 120 of you.

I've got a manual & may be able to send you some photos of the pages later on this evening. What is the problem that you have? Does the garage think the timing belt has broken or skipped a tooth?

I think he's hoping ( and we are too ) that it's just skipped a tooth. If you could send some diagrams that would be so brilliant. My son in-law normally looks after the van but he's down in the Rhondda and we're up in the Outer Hebrides. They're all coming to visit at the end of August - 3 of my girls with their partners and the kids - and I've persuaded them all to leave their cars on the mainland and come over as foot passengers to save themselves a packet because we've got The Bongo here as well as our other car.

THANK YOU, Simon. I'll look out for your messages later.
