You know that column of lights on the dashboard which shows the position of the gear stick? Well the only one which has ever lit up on my Bongo is the 'P' at the very top. I figured the bulbs must be blown so I bought a pack of new ones, removed the dashboard and replaced them all (including the 'P').
I put it all back together and there was no difference whatsoever - only the 'P' light working.
The bulbs I removed certainly don't look blown, although one or two are a little black.
Any idea what else could be causing this?

Re: Selected gear lights
Not sure where it gets the signal from: gear selector or gearbox. If new bulbs (or swapping existing ones around) don't fix it, it may be cheaper just to live with it in case it opens up a can of worms. What age is your van? The dash selector lights were only fitted from about 1999, so if your van is older than that, perhaps its has a newer instrument panel fitted?

Re: Selected gear lights
If it's not easy to fix, I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it.
Van is late 1999, newer body shape. The 'P' light goes off when you move into gear, so some sort of message is getting from one end to the other. Perhaps I'll lift the centre console and have a poke around the gear selector, see if I can see anything simple.
