Thanks. I will give this a go. I have also been reading that the gause on the oil pickup can get blocked. Just wandering if it is worth dropping the sump pan and having a look at this too. Does anyone know if is likely and if it is a trick job?

Do you know the service history of your Bongo ..??

There have been several pics: of gobbed up sumps on the Toyota Estima (TEOC) forum mainly due to poor maintenance on what is essential an 'old fashioned dirty diesel' similar to the Bongo ..

This is a Estima pic: posted this week .. some reckon on there when de gunging the sump they get another half litre plus of oil in ..!!

I became worried when my oil light stayed on that little bit too long. When I had the sum removed the scavenger thingy had "lost" two bolts (they were loose in the sump) when refitted all was back to normal.
