tinting windows/removing windows

Post by v8griffith » Thu Jul 11, 2013 9:44 pm

Can anyone advise -
I am wanting to tint my own rear side windows but from experience its far easier done on the bench! so wanting to know if its possible to remove the windows without removing all of the interior panels inside of the van and also wanting to know how the hinge/window locks can be removed from the glass....
any advice welcome

Regards

All you have have to do is prise off the covers over the hinges and undo the screws. Be careful not to lose the black 'button' on the outside of the window as that is the nut that holds it in place. The catch mechanism can be removed in much the same way I believe.

I did mine, the plastic cover, once clipped off just moves enough to give you clearance to undo the fasteners behind them. Best tip I can give is use good quality tinting film which will shrink with heat, I didn't and it was a right pain in the arse. Used better stuff on the rear screen and it was much better/easier.
