Leisure battery problem

Post by wyefish » Fri Jul 05, 2013 4:05 pm

If anyone can help with this I'd be grateful! My leisure battery is not charging. An RAC man tested it for me and said that the battery was sound. Being an absolute muppet when it comes to anything electrical I'm at a loss as to how to diagnose the problem.

in anticipation, wyefish

What sort of charging system have you got: Zig, Willinton, or other split charge? First thing to check is the fuses before and after the charging unit.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm not sure what make my split charger is, all it says on the unit is Power Management System PMS V3.
However, a friendly neighbour has looked under the bonnet and says that the feed from the ignition to the split charger solenoid has come adrift.
That seems like a likely cause, don't you think?

Thanks to all for the help. The instruction sheet for the PMS unit is most welcome!
