Where to go next week...good UK beach location?

Okay, Plan A was to go to the west coast of Scotland.

However, the weather forecast is not great for there but is good elsewhere in UK.

We live in Aberdeen but I am trying to suss a good place to go kith son, 7 and daughter, 8. Dont mind a bit of travel, into Egnland if necessary, especially to get good weather We are away for a week.

Ideally would like to be on/near a really nice sandy beach but with some form of outdoor activites if possible.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

The above has micro climate type thing its hammering down near Snowden but 20 mins down the road and its sunny

Be wary of travelling hundreds of miles seeking better weather. I did over 1000 miles last week travelling to north devon then down into Cornwall thinking I'd get the sun . It was cloudy and windy , I may have been unlucky but this weekend I'll stick to the railway coast

The west coast of Scotland has been sunshine and showers for last 2 weeks. We were on Skye today by Dunvegan and walked a mile to the coral beach in warm sunshine and then it pi**ed it down and blew a gale. Got drenched and then by the time we got back to the van, the rain stopped and the breeze dried us off. Next week there is talk of a heatwave. That's sod all use as we'll be back at work by then

We might be there late next week, going to Skye first.

Fingers and toes crossed for some sun, the wether man keeps suggesting we might get some and then another pesky weather front appears

We're up Moray coast just now.Blue skies,sandy beaches,grandkids are loving it.

Getting shot of them next week then heading over to skye or assynt whatever the weather.

Moray coast every time! Portsoy, Sandend, They have great beaches and at Sanend there are lots of kids playing all the time!
