just went to check oil levels and found that the air con belt tensioner nut had come off and the belt was just laying in the engine bay tray, we are off tomorrow camping, just want to know if it will be ok to drive without the aircon belt on, everything else is tight and secure?????

any advice welcome.

Yep, if its just the AC compressor pump belt off then it won't do any harm.... You will just have no air con.
Mine had snapped due to compressor seizure & i had no belt for a few months before i sorted a replacement pump, new belt & seals..
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

thanks for that, where did you get the bit's ? as I need the tensioner, all I've got left is the belt and the tensioner bolt and adjuster, no bearing.

I got the belt & seals from the Fury shop... The compressor for a reasonable price from a guy Simon Jones recommended. My tensioner was fine. When the pump froze it snapped the belt leaving it hanging across the jockey wheel & the pump pulley??

Bear in mind, the A/C is what demists the windscreen properly and also if it's not used regularly, the seals tend to dry out and then it won't work when summer eventually arrives. I left mine without any gas for 6 months and fortunately it has not suffered any ill effects but I think I was just lucky.
