Awning advice options to fit onto a ykk.

Post by bongolou » Sat Jun 15, 2013 4:42 pm

My birthday is coming up and ideally I'd like an awning I've been watching and reading with interest but I'm still new to allthis so slightly lost. My new bongo came with a ykk awning like the fiamma aawning that fits to the gutter. I love it and reluctant to ditch it but looking for a drive away attachment for it or that I can use without removing the ykk. This would be for table chairs dog crate etc and sheltered. Not keen on the adding sides idea as the driveway type look easier to unattach and drive off an re hook up. Hope this makes sense and someone has suggestions or even places I could go for advice locally. I live in Cornwall on the Devon Cornwall border. I want to make sure I buy the right awning from the start as plan to be bongoing a while. :-)

I have a YKK awning and we use an Outwell Country Road Awning too.... clipped on the gutter with figure of 8's
As the YKK is mounted high on the brackets, the driveaway fits underneath.

One caveat is...you have to have 3 pieces of fig 8 as most come that way anyway and cut one down to fit between the brackets and the rear needs cutting down a little too.
Works for us.... and the same idea could be used for other driveaways too....
