anti roll bar bushes,easy fit?

we have noticed lately that the bongo is a bit sloppy on suspention and have a clunk,so iam going to go for anti roll bar bushes.

already have just had drop links done(good ones from shop)

Just wonder are they easy to fit,they look easy but not sure if there are any things i need to know when doing them..

bushes and both clamps/ or just the rear clamps and bushes all round ?

I did the rear ones inc brackets a while back and snapped one of the bolts. Ended up taking it to Bellhill to get the remains drilled out. Apart from that, not a tricky job.

Whichever ones you are doing, soak them in releasing fluid every day for a few days...I usually do clamps and bushes together.

I did the rear ones (reusing the brackets) a while back and snapped one of the bolts. Ended up spending £30 on cobalt drill bits to get the remains drilled out.

You can snap a bottom bolt happily enough as you can get to the back of it no problem. Don't snap a top one as the bracket is welded to the back diff. Luckily I snapped a bottom one.

Very easy to fit. Remove the two brackets (taking heed of experience/advice above!), swing ARB forward on it's drop links to get the old bushes off and new bushes on. Swing it back and replace brackets. As far as I understand, it doesn't need to be off the ground, or particularly level, but it might help.

I think everyone snaps them on the rear!....we took the Bongo to the garage knowing this!....

...mind you, we plus-gas-ed them morning and night for 3 days

Managed to snap both bottom ones even taking great care

and a previous owner/garage had snapped a top one and welded the bracket on

I drilled them out large enough to take a nut and bolt through didn't use any special drill bits just normal HSS, did have a bit of hassle with the top drivers side as I couldn't get the drill in because the tank was in the way so I dropped the fuel tank which luckily I wanted to do so I could waxoly above it

Hi everyone, I've just noticed the very same 'thump' when reversing our '95 van at an angle down a slope onto a flat road - quick look underneath and my rear O/S bracket has also snapped apart in a dramatic manner too!
From what I've read, the original factory fitted steel bracket wasn't really made strong enough so this happens a lot.

I have a stronger, replacement bracket in my possession and the rubber looks absolutely fine but I currently cannot undo the seized nuts which will most likely need to be drilled out and replaced I guess - Does anyone know where I can buy the replacement bolts for the brackets or can I just use Nylocks etc?
