Buxton and the High Peak
Hello,
I've seen loads of Bongos and Fredas up here in the hills around Buxton. If you're on here as a member or you just browse the forum, do you fancy meeting up for a drive out, chat or advice/help? More to the point is there a local Bongo expert up here, so I can peck their head for advice about a few Bongo queries.
Here's hoping,
Hector

Re: Buxton and the High Peak
Just logged for the first time in a few days and responses, brilliant.
How's about a provisional 11/08. Pleanty of time in advance for more to get involved. Would be good to share the knowledge and maybe a bite to eat, bit of a ride out somewhere. Had my Bongo for a whie and relatively new to meet ups. Hope the date suit, others can be added if it becomes regular.
Briwy no, I'm not the one in Harpur Hill I'm outside Buxton. There are a few in Buxton. I'm a dark grey tin top with the rear mirror missing ( Yes Mrs Hector took it through a car wash ).

That date works for us.
You just need to think of a suitable meeting place that won't object to a bunch of dodgy campervans turning up

That's fine for us as well.
Make sure you book good weather. I still remember living there for my first 30 years and the cold.

Ha ha it'll be cold. What about morrisons car park to start with. You have to pay everywhere else.

Plenty of sites around. No knowledge of what they are like, living locally we've not stayed there but our cousins stayed at the Royal Oak at Hurdlow a while back and it seemed OK. It is a nice pub and does cracking food (good job as I recommended it to my boss last year and I've still got a job )

It's also on the Peak Trail if anyone fancies a walk or bike ride.

I guess it would be best to book somewhere if we are making a night of it as its right in the school holidays and it gets busy

Sites we've stayed at in that neck of the woods that are ok are Greenhills in Bakewell, Callow Top in Ashbourne and Packhorse Farm in Matlock. Oh, and Staden Grange just south of Buxton but that was yonks ago
