usually a blown transistor means you have to set it on full

if nothing at all i would look at fuses first

Nope, checked the fuse (No. 16) all ok, dont know where the fan is, I suspect knowing the bongo it is somewhere really awkward to get to, especially with my knackered back, does anyone know if there is sheet or info on checks to do etc please.

Hi
David...
Members area, fact sheet entitled heater repair. It details how to repair bushes, but in terms of what you want, it shows how to get there!
Cheers

You sure the fan is actually not working as a common problem is the aircon matrix getting gummed up with debris. The fan works but can't blow into the cab. Easy fix if this is the case.

Hi David
It's worth stripping the lot out until you can see the aircon matrix, and give it a good tooth-brushing, and if you have a compressor, give it a blast through, or borrow one . You'd be surprised how much better they work after!...if not, get a good vac. cleaner on it!
Cheers

If you get the whole fan housing off, it reveals the matrix Helen mentioned. You'll find a lot of dead things squished in the matrix, but be quite gentle when brushing or vacuuming it put as the fins are quite fragile.

The heatsink fins on the resistor / transistor pack can just be seen poking into the air flow at the top:
