Central Locking Key Fob.

Post by windywatson » Tue May 21, 2013 8:05 pm

Has anyone out there tried one of the key fobs that you can buy on Amazon/Ebay that copy the code of your origonal?
If so, do they work & what frequency do I need to buy.
Currently due to one of my Bongos not having it's origonal remote I have programmed the central locking on it to recognise the same fob as the other one. So sharing one fob between 2 vehicles.

Cheers

I bought one from e bay but it would seem that it's the wrong frequency for my original. Quite a nice little item but totally useless unless you have a auto garage opener or electric gates into your estate.

I too would be interested to know the frequency that I need for my Mazda original. Perhaps someone has the info.

I just bought 2 and they worked fine. lost my main set of keys a couple of weeks ago and cant find them anywhere and the remote on my spare was tempremental to say the least.

They cost me a fiver each with free delivery from china. I just looked in the handbook for my alarm and it stated they operated from 300-350mhz so I just seached on ebay for them found these ones running at 315mhz. Took me a while to work out the key presses to clone the old fob. But job done now got 3 sets.

The main thing is to purchase the right frequency. Also check what alarm you have as some arent cloneable.

PS my alarms some form of after market alarm installed by the previous owner.

When I was researching apparently theres a number on a chip on the remote circuit board that tells you what frequency it runs at. I dont know much more than that but it might be worth trawling the internet. I didnt need to look as I had the instructions.

Great news, second hand remote fob plus matching remote reciever turned up on e-bay for £15. So bought that asap.
