Canvas leaks

Post by Terri & colin » Fri May 17, 2013 11:30 am

i popped my top in the rain when camping... And the water seeped in through the zip and all over.. Does it need waterproofing and what to do about the zip?

There's a flap on the outside over the zip, it's quite common that it gets folded upwards, then driving rain can get through the zip. If you pop the roof, unzip the tent and fold the foldy bit the right way, you can hold it in this position with clothes pegs and drop the roof back down. Then when you next need it, it should be ok.

The tent itself shouldn't need proofing as it's plastic, not like a proper tent.

Iv stuck it down with heavy duty Velcro and iv checked the rim that holds the canvas down and it's all loose.. So will tighten the screws up when it stops raining.
Terri.... [-o< let's hope this works coz it's a real tight fit with us both sleeping down stairs x

If its loose at the bottom frame, it might be the foam seals see http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 38#p337738
