I will be leaving from the Borders myself on Friday as early as I can (probably 11.59 am :oops ). If a small white and champange Burstner motorhome flashes you as you go past it will be me - better stick my forum name in the back window.

Undecided whether to take the direct route with its two stretches of single track road which I know well or or go further north to avoid them. It takes a while to get used to the width of a motorhome. I have already bashed my inside wing mirror once, fortunately without any damage.

Hi
Nah...don't change it...just stick a picture of a decent long-necked banjo (God's own instrument) in the window, and it'll fit with the name NICELY....and to cap it off in exquisite style, have some blue-grass playin' on yer audio equipment
Cheers

Friday morning Gordon as early as I can but timed to avoid the worst of the rush hour traffic on the Edinburgh bye pass. Idealy about 10 am but on past record probably much latter.

For me the RAC give the shortest route (with the two stretches of single track road) as 267 miles taking 5hrs 30mins.

Leaving Fife mid-morning. Aiming to get to camp 4pm, perhaps - the navigator is only 4. ;)

I still have to pack the van.
