..... Boujour fellow bongonauts ...

Post by heath and heather » Sun May 12, 2013 9:03 pm

Hi we have recently purchased a mazda bongo and everything is running smoothly apart from one little problem, our front heater doesn't work. After a lot of searching we have replaced the heater and it still doesn't work. The fan has been tested successfully, the resistor has also been replaced and still to no avail. With the weather as it is the windows are constantly steaming up so can anyone PLEEEEEASE HELLLLP!!! #-o

On most cars a non working heater is often a sign that the water level is low.

On the Bongo it could also be due to an air lock. Air locks on Bongos can be catastrophic. Best get it checked out. Don't trust the temperature gauge unless it has been modified with a temperature alarm and expanded scale. Don't drive it far enough to get hot, either, until you have had the problem solved by a mechanic who knows how to bleed a Bongo.

Where are you?

You might be lucky enough to be near an expert.

Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you meant it wasn't getting hot.

If its hoses are hot and the level in the header tank looks ok, panic over!

Take it back to Ian. He's not the type to leave you with an unfinished job and will want to get it working right, from all I've ever heard about him.
