hello, i know its probably been answered a million times, but what is the max thickness of mattress you can keep in the top when its down ?

This is what we have up there but it needs careful arrangment;

The foam bedding is 3" and there are two lots (main section and hatch square), these rest on the hatch that has had its hinges removed and slides back under the bedding, on top is the front silver screen! The square of foam MUST be carefully positioned between the two skylight runners and all the foam is as far towards the rear as possible for maximum leverage to squash it. Up the front is just one layer of foam, and the odd item of clothing but keep this to an absolute minimum.
